Kevin Torres

Supervisory CBP Agriculture Specialist

Kevin Torres has been a dedicated professional with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Miami Seaport since January 2005. In 2010, he served as a member of the Agriculture Enforcement team and became a certified Field Training Officer. In 2015, he was promoted to 1st Line Supervisor at the Miami International Airport. In 2017, he transferred as a 1st Line Supervisor back to the Miami Seaport. Here he implemented the Maritime Flower Inspection Process, which led to a 12x increase in inspections since 2018 and significant boosts in seasonal enforcement. In 2024, he was detailed as an Agriculture Operation Manager for the Miami Field Office. Under his leadership, the Miami Seaport has become a leader in Wood Packaging Material (WPM) regulatory enforcement, generating over $3.5 million in penalties.

Lian Lopez is a Customs and Border Agriculture Specialist with over 15 years of experience, adept at cargo inspections, compliance, and agricultural safeguarding. In her roles as Field Training Officer and Cargo Compliance Officer, she actively conducts outreach and provides Wood Packing Material (WPM) training to uphold compliance and safeguard U.S. agriculture.
