Meet the expert:

Alexander Amdur

Alexander Amdur has over twenty-five years of experience working on international trade enforcement and facilitation issues in the U.S. government. He is the Director of CBP’s Antidumping and Countervailing Duty (AD/CVD) Programs Division. The AD/CVD Division is responsible for CBP’s national AD/CVD enforcement policy, and implementation and enforcement of trade remedies under Sections 201, 232, and 301. He has also held other positions in CBP’s Office of Trade and Field Operations. He is the recipient of the 2020 Office of Trade Executive Assistant Commissioner’s Team Agility Award, the 2017 Commissioner’s Trade and Facilitation Award, and the 2014 ICE Director’s DHS Partner Award.

Prior to joining CBP in 2007, he worked at the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. As a Foreign Commercial Service Officer, Mr. Amdur coordinated international business development initiatives for U.S. companies. In addition, at the Import Administration, Mr. Amdur led teams working on AD/CVD import investigations. He previously served as a Brookings Fellow with the Trade Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee. Mr. Amdur has a BA in International Relations from Tufts University, and a Masters in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
